Hello,

I had several questions when installing the ClearOS 6.7

1. If I do not use Microsoft infrastructure but only a Linux network, is it necessary to install OpenLDAP?

2. Why can't I install other components after successfully installing CLearOS 6.7 ? For example, IMAP and POP Server, SMTP server, etc.
When I try to install these components, they only pretend that they are being installed, but in fact this does not actually happen.

This is very sad news for me :(
After all, I used version 5.x and 6.x for a long time, and I had the best impressions of ClearOS.

Why did this sad event happen, what was its reason?
And what distribution should I use instead of ClearOS now?

There is at this moment not a good replacement for ClearOS, but there are alternatives.
Since you are using 5.x and 6.x you can set up you ClearOS 7. Despite is EOL and there will be no future updates it is solid and stable distro.

It is pure what your demands are to determine the distro that fits for you

Patrick, I have an old server that only has 1GB of RAM and I can't increase it.
Unfortunately that with each new version of ClearOS worked slower and slower.
    ClarkConnect worked instantly :)
ClearOS 5 worked pretty fast too.
ClearOS 6 is slow, but it's still tolerable.
But I'm not sure at all that speed ClearOS 7 with such a small RAM will be acceptable.

Michael, your news is very encouraging! I wish your team continued success in developing the excellent ClearOS product :D
Can you tell me on which forum we can comfortable discuss ClearOS without any problems?
Because this forum is abandoned and works extremely slowly.

Donald, I've already seen this, so I ask again - is the ClearOS project dead? Is no one developing it anymore?

    As mentioned earlier.
Please read the other forum posts and my previous answer "The forum is abandoned and Clear is not given any support"
The is and will be no development. So move over to another distro or keep using as it is.

And what does it mean? The ClearOS project has degraded, is not developing and is also closed? :o
