Hello Forum,
So firstly i run ClearOS 7.9.1 on a VM in VMware on Centos 7.
I recently installed the whole Server but Samba is where its critical right now,
i got the file sharing to work, i an access and create the diretories easily but when i try to connect my windows 10 Client to the Samba Domain i provied it doesnt work...
it just says the domain couldnt be found or a connection is not possible..
then i went into the terminal and looked for the status of my smb.service.
it said that /etc/samba/smbusers isnt used but i already created users in the GUI..
Now i dont know where they are stored to begin with, i created a domainadmin and gave him the role domain_admin so i could connect to the domain with that.

did anyone ever have the same problem?

Last summer (2023), Microsoft released a Windows update, at which point it would no longer trust Samba domains. An update to Samba was released upstream nearly a year ago to fix the issue. Unfortunately ClearOS has not released any updates for over 2 years so the Samba Domain feature is dead.

It looks like Nick Howitt can provide all the missing upstream updates for a small fee. He can be contacted at:
